Who we are

FXSpreadMeter is an independent forex and CFD broker comparison, review and education website. We are not a broker, we do not hold client money and we never execute trades. We earn revenue from affiliate commissions paid by brokers and from advertising placements. Nothing on this site is personal investment advice.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have. It applies to every page on this website.

What we collect

We collect only what a comparison site needs to work:

• **Find My Broker quiz answers.** The preferences you select (trading experience, region, deposit size, instruments, platform preferences). These are used to produce your broker shortlist.
• **PAMM / strategy submission forms.** If you apply to list a PAMM account, social trading strategy or money manager profile, we collect the name, contact email address, account or strategy identifiers, provider details and any performance evidence you choose to upload.
• **Strategy registration forms.** Your name and contact email address.
• **Site search queries.** The words you type into search, so we can improve our coverage and fix gaps.
• **Usage and device data.** Pages viewed, referring page, approximate region, browser and device type, and clicks on broker links. This is collected by our analytics endpoints (`/api/analytics`, `flock.js`) and by our own click-tracking on outbound broker links.
• **Account data, if you create an account.** Email address, authentication identifiers (including a Google account identifier if you sign in with Google) and the records you create while signed in.

We do not ask for and do not want your trading account passwords, card numbers, government identity documents or copies of statements containing account credentials.

Why we use it

• To produce broker shortlists and comparison results you have asked for.
• To review, verify and publish PAMM or strategy listings you have submitted, and to contact you about them.
• To operate accounts, sign-in and moderation.
• To measure which pages, tools and broker links are used, so we can improve the research and the site.
• To attribute affiliate referrals correctly to us, and to detect fraudulent or automated clicks.
• To meet legal obligations and to enforce our terms.

Our legal bases (where the UK/EU GDPR applies) are: performance of a contract or a step you asked for (submissions, accounts), our legitimate interests (site security, analytics, affiliate attribution, editorial improvement), consent (non-essential cookies and marketing email, where offered), and legal obligation.

Third parties whose services appear on this site

Some features load content from third parties, which may see your IP address and set their own cookies under their own policies:

• **TradingView** — market data ticker and charts.
• **MetalCharts** — gold and metals price widget.
• **A European Central Bank based exchange-rate API** — reference FX rates used by our calculators.
• **Affiliate and advertising partners** — brokers whose referral links you click, and advertisers whose paid placements appear on our pages. When you click a broker link, that broker learns that you arrived from FXSpreadMeter.
• **Our hosting, database, email and analytics providers** — acting on our instructions to run the site.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies (session, security, language and consent choices), plus analytics and affiliate-attribution identifiers. Full details, including how to refuse or delete them, are in our Cookie Policy.

How long we keep it

• Quiz answers and search queries: short-lived, in aggregated or de-identified form for analytics.
• Submission and listing records: for as long as the listing is live and then as needed for record-keeping and dispute handling.
• Account data: until you ask us to delete the account.
• Analytics and click records: retained in aggregate; identifiers are kept only as long as needed for attribution and fraud checks.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to our use of it, or port it to another provider. You can also withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise any right, contact us through the contact page on this site. We will respond within the period your law requires (one month under the GDPR).

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, highlight the change on the site.
