Overview
This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixels and tracking parameters) used on FXSpreadMeter, what each type is for, and how to control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

Strictly necessary
These make the site work and cannot be switched off:
- session and sign-in cookies for accounts, admin areas and form security;
- your language choice and cookie-consent choice, so we do not ask again on every page;
- rate-limiting and abuse-prevention identifiers.
Analytics and performance
We measure which pages, tools and comparisons are used so we can improve them. This runs through our own analytics endpoints (`/api/analytics` and the `flock.js` script) and records page views, referring pages, approximate region, device and browser type, and interactions such as search queries and tool usage. We use this in aggregate; we do not build advertising profiles from it.
Affiliate attribution and advertising
When you click a broker link or an advert, an identifier and URL parameters may be passed so the broker or advertiser can attribute the referral to us, and so we can count clicks and detect automated or fraudulent traffic. Advertisers and affiliate networks may set their own cookies once you land on their site, under their own policies.
Third-party content
Embedded features load from third parties that may set cookies or read your IP address:
- **TradingView** — market ticker and charts;
- **MetalCharts** — gold and metals price widget;
- **an ECB-based exchange-rate API** — reference rates for our calculators.
We do not control these cookies. Please see each provider's own cookie and privacy notices.
How to control cookies
- Use the cookie banner or the cookie settings link on this site to accept or refuse non-essential cookies.
- Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and clear local storage; check its privacy settings.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in, saved preferences and some tools.
- You can also browse in a private window, which clears cookies when you close it.
Changes
We update this policy when the technologies we use change. The date above always shows the current version.
