Section 01
Capital.com overview
Capital.com is a mobile-first CFD broker built around artificial-intelligence features that try to make trading more transparent. The app explains why you are being shown a particular instrument, flags leverage and margin in plain language, and offers educational snippets alongside the order ticket. That approach is unusual in an industry where platforms usually assume the user already understands derivatives.
The product range is broad within the CFD universe: forex, indices, commodities, shares, ETFs and crypto are available in supported jurisdictions. The broker does not offer real underlying ownership; everything is traded as a CFD, which is a leveraged derivative with financing costs and no shareholder rights.
Our view is that Capital.com is best suited to traders who want a clean, modern interface, strong educational scaffolding and straightforward CFD access without the clutter of a professional terminal. Traders who need MetaTrader, direct market access or a full multi-asset custody account will find the platform limiting.
Capital.com operates through several regulated entities. The company that signs your client agreement decides which products you can access, what leverage is available, what investor-protection scheme applies and how fees are charged. Conditions described here may not match your own account once you register from your country of residence.

FXSpreadMeter assessment
FXSpreadMeter score for Capital.com
8.5 / 10
Average of the category ratings below. It reflects our current research view and is revised whenever a broker's pricing, regulation or platform offering changes.
Capital.com scores highly on platform design and education. The mobile app is one of the cleaner CFD interfaces available, the AI-driven explanations genuinely help newer traders understand what they are doing, and the absence of an inactivity fee removes a common annoyance. These are real strengths for a retail audience.
It also scores well on cost transparency for a spread-only broker. There is no commission line to compare, but the spread and overnight financing are displayed clearly, and the educational prompts reduce the chance of accidentally using leverage. Negative balance protection is available for retail clients in the main regulated entities.
It loses points on platform depth and asset ownership. There is no MetaTrader, no cTrader, no direct share ownership and no professional desktop terminal. Traders who want those things will outgrow the platform quickly. It also loses points on jurisdiction complexity: not every product is available in every country, and some regions are served by entities with different leverage rules.
Section 05
Capital.com fees & trading costs
Capital.com is a spread-only broker on most products. There is no separate dealing commission on the standard CFD offer; the cost is embedded in the bid-ask spread and in overnight financing for positions held past rollover. That makes the platform easy to compare at a glance, but it also means the total cost over a year depends heavily on how often you trade and how long you hold.
The main non-trading cost to watch is overnight financing. Because Capital.com specialises in leveraged CFDs, any position held for more than a day incurs a daily charge that can exceed the spread if the trade is kept open for weeks. Currency conversion may also apply if your account currency differs from the instrument currency.

FXSpreadMeter view
- The FXSpreadMeter view column compares each cost against the current pricing of other active brokers in our directory for the same product type. It is a relative judgement, not a rating of the broker as a whole.
- Because the broker is CFD-only, there is no custody fee, dividend handling or stamp duty to compare — but there is also no underlying ownership.
- Holding leveraged CFDs for weeks can make overnight financing the largest cost of the trade.

Section 07
Is Capital.com regulated?
Capital.com is a group of separately regulated companies. The entity that holds your account determines the regulator, leverage limits, available products and compensation scheme. Two clients using the same app can therefore have very different legal protections.
This matters most for retail leverage and product access. A UK client may see different maximum leverage and a different crypto CFD availability from a client in another region, even if both are trading on the same branded platform.

Section 08
Opening a Capital.com account
Opening an account is fully online. You register, provide identity documents, complete the suitability questionnaire and fund the account. There is no fixed minimum for most standard accounts, so the barrier to entry is low, though verification is a regulatory requirement and must be completed before full trading access is granted.
We do not publish a guaranteed approval time. The speed depends on the documents you upload and the checks your entity runs.
- 1
Create the account
Register with your email and set your country of residence. The country determines which Capital.com entity and product set you see.
- 2
Verify your identity
Upload government-issued photo ID and proof of address. This is required before withdrawals and often before trading.
- 3
Complete the suitability test
Answer the knowledge and experience questions honestly. Your answers may restrict access to leveraged products.
- 4
Review your account settings
Confirm your base currency, leverage limits and available products for your entity.
- 5
Fund the account
Deposit via a supported method for your region. No fixed minimum applies to most standard accounts.
- 6
Use the demo first
Test the mobile app, web platform and order ticket in a risk-free environment before committing real capital.
Section 09
Deposits & withdrawals
Funding and withdrawal options cover the standard retail methods in most regions: bank transfer, cards and supported e-wallets. Capital.com generally does not charge a withdrawal fee, which is a plus, but your bank or payment provider may apply its own charges or currency spreads.
Because the platform is CFD-only, there is no underlying asset custody or dividend reinvestment to manage. The only complications are currency conversion if your base currency differs from your funding currency or the instrument currency, and the anti-money-laundering rule that withdrawals usually go back to the original funding source.

Section 10
Capital.com platforms
Capital.com is built around its own mobile app and web platform. The design is modern, simple and heavily focused on reducing the complexity of CFD trading. Order tickets explain leverage and margin in plain language, and the AI features try to help you understand why you are looking at a particular instrument.
TradingView integration is available for charting and analysis, but execution remains in the Capital.com environment. There is no MetaTrader or cTrader, so traders who rely on those ecosystems will not find them here.
Capital.com mobile app
The flagship experience: clean design, educational prompts, fast order entry and full account management.
Check before funding: Whether mobile-only charting is deep enough for your strategy.
Capital.com web platform

Not offered.
Check before funding: If your strategy needs MT4/5, this broker is not compatible.
cTrader
Not offered.
Check before funding: cTrader automation and depth-of-market tools are unavailable.
Mobile app
The mobile app is Capital.com's strongest platform. It is designed for quick onboarding, clear risk display and fast order entry. The AI features explain leverage and margin in context, and the watchlist and alert functionality are straightforward. For traders who want to manage positions on the move, the app is a genuine advantage.
Charting is good for a mobile app but not comparable to a desktop terminal. Security is handled through device-level biometrics or passcode, and two-factor authentication should be enabled from the start.
Web trading platform
The web platform extends the mobile design to a larger screen. It is clean, fast and includes TradingView charting integration. The order ticket is the same simplified model as the app, which keeps the experience consistent but limits the depth of control available to advanced traders.
Customisation is limited. You cannot install custom indicators or expert advisors, and there is no depth-of-market ladder. For most retail CFD traders that is acceptable; for systematic or professional traders it is not.
Section 11
What can you trade with Capital.com?

Section 17
Trading risks
CFDs are leveraged and can lose more than you expect
A CFD is a derivative. Small adverse moves are amplified by leverage, and most retail CFD accounts lose money.
Leverage caps depend on your entity
The maximum available leverage is set by your regulator and client classification, not by the marketing headline.
Overnight financing accumulates
Holding leveraged positions for days or weeks can make financing cost exceed the opening spread.
You do not own the underlying asset
All Capital.com products are CFDs, so you get price exposure without ownership, voting rights or dividends.
Product availability varies by jurisdiction
Crypto CFDs, leverage limits and even some markets may not be available in your country.
Mobile-first risk
A phone screen makes it easier to miss position size or leverage details. Always review the order ticket carefully.
